This policy explains what personal information Kichwa Connect Limited ("we", "us") collects, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. It covers this website, and the way we handle your details when you contact us, bring in a device or use our internet service. We've kept it in plain language.

Who we are

Kichwa Connect Limited, Catherine Ndereba Road, Nairobi 00100, Kenya. We decide how the personal information described here is used. For anything about it, email info@kichwaconnect.co.ke or call +254 701 581 233.

When you just visit this website

When you contact us

If you call, WhatsApp or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us. We use it to answer you, give you a quote and follow up on the job. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to messages sent through it. The links on this site to WhatsApp, Google Maps and our social media pages take you to those services, which have their own policies.

Tracking a repair

The repair tracker on this site sends only the ticket number you type to our repair system, which opens in a new tab. That system asks for the last four digits of the phone number on the ticket before it shows anything, and it shows only the stage of the repair and its date: not your name, your device details or the price. We never put those four digits in a web address.

When you bring in a device or use a service

To repair, sell or support something, we record the details we need. Depending on the job, that can include your name and phone number, the device (make, model, serial number or IMEI), what is wrong with it, what we quoted and what you paid and, for internet customers, the details needed to install, bill and support your connection. We use them to do the job, contact you about it, deal with any warranty questions and keep our accounts. They are kept in our own management system, and our staff use them as their work requires.

When you apply for a job

If you use the application form on our Careers page, we receive what you enter (your name, phone number, email address, area of interest, and your education and experience) and the CV you attach, if any. The form sends them to our email inbox, and we do not store them anywhere else on this website. We use them only to consider your application and to contact you about it. To limit spam, we briefly keep a scrambled version of your IP address, for up to an hour, to count how many times the form has been used from it. Our web host and email provider handle the message on our behalf. We keep applications for as long as we may want to consider you for a role, then delete them, and you can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.

Photographs on this website

The people shown in photographs on this website agreed to appear. If you are in one, or think you can be recognised in one, and want it taken down, tell us and we will remove it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with those who help us do the job you asked for, such as the companies that host this website and our repair system and the messaging apps you choose to contact us on, or when the law requires it. If you accept analytics, that includes Google, which may process information in other countries.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the reasons above, including warranty, accounting and legal requirements, and then delete or anonymise it. If you would like something deleted sooner, ask us, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. This website is served over HTTPS, and our repair lookup needs two pieces of information before it shows anything. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection.

Email or call us and we will deal with your request. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.

This website is not aimed at children, and it does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
